This delicious Sauerkraut soup fills the stomach and the soul. Tangy sauerkraut, sweet caramelized onions, Smokey paprika, salty bacon, and earthy caraway combine to make a mouthwatering tempting dish.
Sauerkraut Soup Recipe Ingredients:
- ½ pound sauerkraut
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 2 ½ cups water
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 1 lb. smoked sausage of your choice, sliced
- 1 tsp. dried dill weed
- 1 can (15 oz) carrots, drained
- 1 can (15 oz) sliced potatoes, drained
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. Minced garlic (Optional)
Instruction:
- In a 4- to the 6-quart slow cooker, combine cream of mushroom soup, chicken soup, water, and chicken broth. Sausage, kraut, onion, carrots, and potatoes are all stirred. Add dill and garlic seasonings.
- Covered and cook for up to 3 hours on low or 1 hour on high flame. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve Hot, and Enjoy.
